Indenture made 13 February, 2 James II 1685, between Peter Hackney of Congleton husbandman of the one part, and Ralph Wagge of Congleton Shoemaker of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Peter Hackney, in consideration of the receipt of £23, hath demised etc to Ralph Wagge for ever, all that one day work of ground or therabouts bee the same more or less, situate in Congleton in a certain field called West field, heretofore in the possession of John Hackney and Ellin his wife; to hold the same unto the said Ralph Wagge and his heirs and assigns for ever.
