Indenture made 28 July 1652 between Ralph Wagge of Congleton tanner and Priscilla his wife of the one part, and Hugh Royley of Congleton aforesaid blacksmith of the other part. Witnesseth that the said parties to the first part, in consideration of the receipt of £10 of lawful money, have given, graunted, and sold to the aforesaid Hugh Royley, all and singular that bay, parcel of building or barneing adjoining to the mansion or dwelling house of the said Ralph Wagge, and situate betwixt the gatehouse of the said mansion in Congleton aforesaid in a certain street there called the West Streete, now in the tenure of the said Ralph Wagge; to have and to hold the said premises forever.
