Charter by which Philip del Grene, mercer of Congulton, concedes to John Spenser mayor of Congulton and to the mayors who for the time were, one acre of land on the other side of the River Dane, lying between the land of [ ] de Latham of the one part, and the land of the wife of Henry Olson on the other part, within the lordship of Congulton; to hold the same to the said John and his successors rendering annually the whole of the profits arising from the said acre towards the repair and sustenance of the stone bridge at the end of the town of Congulton, by the view of honest men of the said town.
These being witnesses:- Roger Moreton, William Moreton, Hugh Grene, William Jonesson, and John Barker, then bailiff of the said town, and others. Dated on the feast of St Hilary, 16 Henry VI [13 January 1438].
